Description
Established in 1974 from a mouse brain neoplasm tumour induced by nitrosoethylurea, possess many properties characteristic of smooth muscle. Since then it has been suggested that BC3H1 cell line is a skeletal line of ectodermal origin that is defective for commitment to terminal differentiation. The two distinct morphologies typical of this cell line are large spheroid cells and smooth-muscle-like cells. The fusiform is the more common.

Quality Control
BC3H1 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
