Description
Derived from the aorta of a Friesian cow. Cells form "sprouts" after confluence. Infected with Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus (BVDV) which cell line is a common contaminant of ruminants and is non-hazardous to humans. Secretes proteoglycans and collagen.

Quality Control
BAE-1 Cell Line was tested and found to be free of mycoplasma, bacterial, viruses, and other toxins. All cells were above 95% viability before freezing.
